Instrumented Safeguards
Instrumental safeguards can make the difference between life and death. The course is based on IEC 61508:2010 and IEC 61511:2016.
You will learn about the IEC-61511 and how it is tested whether instrumental protection is sufficiently reliable. Not only the design is important, also the physical testing after realization. You learn that SIL means much more than calculating a failure probability.
In addition to theory and explanation of the methodology, practical aspects are discussed and SIL verification & SIF validation exercises are made.
This training has been given to various groups for many years, both ‘open registration’ and ‘in-house training’. The training courses are regularly evaluated, updated and improved.
Herman Jansen will give the training. Herman conducts several SIL verification studies every year and has provided dozens SIL verification courses in the past 15 years.
